In available rankings all academic journals are compared among them and a unique global score is computed for each journal. As there is no good reason to compare journals of different areas among them, we provide a solution to compare and rank journals of a same area based on the computation of local Area Scores.
The Area Score of a journal represents the average influence of its articles within a specific area delimited by a relevant set of journals.
More than 200 ready-made areas are proposed on diamScience. As they could be too large to represent more specific areas, you can define a custom-tailored area by selecting a representative set of journals and compute their Area Scores on-the-fly.
